Natalie Diane Grant was born in Seattle, Washington, on December 21, 1971. She began her teaching training at Northwest College in Kirkland, Washington (now Northwest University). She initially thought her musical talents should be shared only with her local church until she found her true calling.
She then switched careers and started singing Christian music. Between 1999 and 2003, she released three albums, but most of her hits came later in her career.

Natalie Grant began her career in modern Christian music when she tried out for the touring music group Truth. To advance her solo career, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee. In 1997, she signed a record deal with Benson Records and started working on her debut album, which was released in 1999.
After leaving Benson, she signed with Pamplin Music and released the album Stronger in 2001. When Pamplin Records closed, she joined Curb Records and released five solo albums, starting with Deeper Life in 2003. Her breakthrough came in 2005 with Awaken, which was certified gold by the RIAA. She followed with Love Revolution in 2010 and Hurricane in 2013.
In 2008, she toured with Jeremy Camp and Bebo Norman on the Speaking Louder Than Before tour. She also contributed the song “Breathe On Me” to Crystal Aikin’s debut album and participated as a speaker and performer in the Women of Faith conference’s Revolve Tour.
Natalie Grant went on her first tour with MercyMe in April 2011. MercyMe was named Artist of the Decade by Billboard magazine. She also starred in the television movie Decision for the Gospel Music Channel in October 2011.
On September 27, 2013, it was announced that she would host the GSN game show It Takes a Church, which premiered on June 5, 2014.
Her tenth studio album, No Stranger, was released on September 25, 2020. The main song, “My Weapon,” was released on February 21, 2020.

Philantropy
Natalie Grant works on anti-human trafficking campaigns. She became interested in the issue after watching an episode of Law & Order that focused on it. Inspired by her research, she and her husband visited India to observe the red-light districts and the efforts to combat them. This experience changed the direction of her life and influenced her music.
In 2005, Grant founded The Home Foundation, which is now known as Abolition International. The organization aims to stop sex trafficking through campaigning, education, accreditation for aftercare, and providing recovery houses for victims.
On October 23, 2012, the Sisters of Divine Providence honored Natalie Grant with the Bishop Ketteler Award for Social Justice for her work against human trafficking.
