The church was founded on August 7, 1988, and held its first service the same day with two families at Victory Nursery School in Akure.
Today, Agape Christian Ministries is one of the well-known churches in Nigeria, with branches in over 30 locations across the country. The church has thousands of members, spread across ten states, over 35 parishes, and is present on three continents. The church celebrated its 21st anniversary in 2023.
