Biography
Cory Hunter Asbury was born on October 15, 1985. Music had a strong influence on him from a young age. He began writing songs while growing up in North Carolina. By 17, he was leading worship at his local church.
In 2004, he graduated from Franklin High School. He initially wanted to study at UNC Chapel Hill. However, his friends, who were alumni, influenced him to attend the Onething internship with International House of Prayer (IHOPKC) in Kansas City. Later, Bethel Music signed Asbury and released their eighth live album, “Have It All,” in 2014. In December 2016, Asbury moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, and began serving as a worship pastor at Radiant Church.

Asbury received two nominations for the 2021 GMA Dove Awards. He was nominated for Song of the Year for “The Father’s House” and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year for To Love a Fool. In August 2021, he announced that he would headline the Songs and Stories tour in the United States, alongside Benjamin Hastings of Hillsong United.
